Bel Etage offers seasonal, product-oriented, and uncomplicated gourmet cuisine at the highest level. Head chef Michael Baader has been in charge of the kitchen since the restaurant's opening in 1989. The award-winning restaurant offers a changing menu with à la carte dishes and various set menus, each paired with exciting wine selections.

Gourmet Menus and a Wide Selection of Wines at Bel Etage in Basel

For each dish, we offer the perfect wine, either by the glass or as a wine set paired with the menu. Our wine list includes 450 selections.

In the summer, we serve dishes either outside on the summer terrace or inside in the beautiful rooms of the Bel Etage gourmet restaurant.

Opening Hours

The Bel Etage gourmet restaurant is open in the evenings from Tuesday to Saturday. We serve in the beautiful rooms of the gourmet restaurant and, weather permitting, on the summer terrace.

Please note our service hours for food: We are happy to serve hot dishes from 18:30 – 20:30 (last order). The restaurant closes around midnight.

Young Gourmet Tuesday

Every Tuesday, we offer "Gourmet Tuesday" in our Bel Etage gourmet restaurant for all guests under 35 years of age.

Our kitchen team prepares a seasonal three-course gourmet menu. In addition to an aperitif, we serve a carefully selected wine pairing with each course, water, and coffee with grappa to finish.

All of this is available at a special price of CHF 139.- per person.
